Cool Stuff: Homeward Bound Halton Program Update

From Rossana Gorys:

Home Suite Hope, along with the Oakville Community Foundation and Region of Halton, are sponsoring five women who will be enrolled in a two-year diploma program at Sheridan. The women are currently in the Academic Upgrading Program and will begin their full-time studies in January.  FHASS is taking the lead in working closely with the not-for-profit agency, Home Suite Hope, to ensure that the women have a smooth transition into their programs. College president Jeff Zabudsky has committed to provide the women with free laptops and Wi-Fi during their stay at Sheridan. The selection process for the second cohort is currently underway and that group of five women should be ready to start their full-time post-secondary program in Fall 2015. Sheridan, along with Home Suite Hope, is planning to officially launch the Homeward Bound Program with an event planned for January 2015.
